NSF Student Scholar Award:
To encourage student participation, as well as facilitate the grooming of future researchers in topics relevant to CCGrid, the organizers of 11th IEEE/ACM International Symposium on Cluster, Cloud and Grid Computing (CCGrid 2011 http://www.ics.uci.edu/~ccgrid11) plan to award 'NSF Student Scholar Award' to encourage and facilitate graduate students attendance in the conference.
Interested graduate students (both, with or without papers at this years CCGrid) working on relevant topics can apply for the award by sending a one page summary of their accomplished and planned research. Submission details are given below.
Successful candidates will be expected to present the synopsis of their research with the aid of a poster, in an interactive lunch session. Besides the general audience with whom the student will interact, one expert of the corresponding topic will be assigned for each student to have a one-to-one interaction, to provide the student with pertinent feedback on his/her research.
Submission Guidelines:
Interested students should send a one page summary of their research, including the (tentative) title of their thesis, name of supervisor(s), and clearly indicating which aspects of the research tasks have already been accomplished, and which of the others are ongoing or planned for future.
This should be accompanied with a one page CV of the applicant, indicating relevant publications. The organizers wish to encourage participation of students from diverse backgrounds, so include relevant details in the CV.
A single pdf document (one side with research summary, one side with CV) should be sent for the application. Send your application to the Student Awards Chair, Dr. Anwitaman Datta by email at anwitaman@ntu.edu.sg with the subject 'CCGrid 2011 student scholar award application' latest by 7th May. An email filter will be used, so mistake in the subject line may lead to omission of the application.
